I once had this challenge coin which I kept inside my pocket and brought with me everywhere I went. The purpose of that was: whenever I would feel defeated and down, I would reach inside my pocket and I would feel the coin. That would make me remember the things I’m grateful for in my life. I’ve heard of cases of substance abuse but I have yet to fully understand what goes on behind the scenes. Patients who are addicted to a certain substance have to undergo a process to get better. Inpatient substance abuse treatment is for those who are willing to get help. With cases of addiction, the patient has to acknowledge that he has a problem and then be willing to undergo treatment. It can take a long time to cure, but it’s all worth it. And the patient has to be willing to get help, first and foremost.
