Blue Mosaic Tiles

I watched a movie the other day, and in one scene there was this one thing that caught my attention… blue mosaic tiles in the protagonist’s house. It was so attractive! I didn’t think any tile can look that good in a house. It looked so magnificent and classy, that even though their house was not really that big, it made it so beautiful! I loved the look so much that I’m seriously contemplating whether I’d do the same for my own house someday. I hope it’s not too expensive. I’d probably just put them in the bathroom or something. That sounds great. Or maybe those bigger ones would look better on the patio. Whatever, I think they’re great!

Excited To Tour

angel on Oct-31-2010

I need a vacation! I’m planning to go on a short tour and vacation to Singapore before the year ends. So I’m looking for some cheap packages here and there. I didn’t realize the airfare was so expensive! But I’m really looking forward to the tour itself. I’d like a package that includes a nice hotel, preferably a posh, comfortable one, with matouk bed linens (which are so fine) and a bathtub with complimentary breakfast on the side. Is that asking too much? Haha. But really, I’d love to stay in a comfortable and safe hotel. I plan to visit the tourist spots and take a lot of pictures! I’m so excited! I hope to God it pushes through.

Decide To Help Yourself

A reader of mine wrote to me about his experience as a drug dependent. He said that at some point in his life, he became addicted to a substance called opiate. For 2 years, he suffered, and it was a dark and terrible time of his life. He didn’t know where to turn or how to stop. Then one day, he met a good friend, and this friend was the one responsible to completely change his life. This friend introduced him to God and slowly, he began to acknowledge that he did in fact have a drug problem. He cried for days, but the thing that really saved him, was his decision to get help. He underwent opiate detox in a certain facility and really worked hard for his rehabilitation. To make the long story short, he is fully recovered now, about to propose to his girlfriend, and has never been happier and more at peace.

I was really touched with his story, I decided to share a little bit here (with his permission of course). He wanted to remain anonymous though, so I won’t name any names. The thing is, stuff like this happen everywhere, whether we know about it or not. But this is another testimony that it’s POSSIBLE for people to CHANGE. We get afflicted with diseases, either psychological or physical, but there’s always help. And it comes in the highest form through God. If we decide to help ourselves, He will give us what we need, allow us to meet people who will guide and help us, so we can be better.

Blaise Pascal Quotes About Life

A person dear to me was quoting Blaise Pascal one day, and I loved it so much I was inspired to look up some of his quotes. And they are really quite profound and straight to the core. Check out these 25 I’ve picked:

  1. If our condition were truly happy, we would not seek diversion from it in order to make ourselves happy.
  2. If we examine our thoughts, we shall find them always occupied with the past and the future.
  3. Happiness is neither without us nor within us. It is in God, both without us and within us.
  4. I have made this letter longer than usual, only because I have not had the time to make it shorter.
  5. Imagination disposes of everything; it creates beauty, justice, and happiness, which are everything in this world.
  6. In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don’t.
  7. It is not good to be too free. It is not good to have everything one wants.
  8. Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much.
  9. When we are in love we seem to ourselves quite different from what we were before.
  10. All human evil comes from a single cause, man’s inability to sit still in a room.
  11. All of our reasoning ends in surrender to feeling.
  12. Between us and heaven or hell there is only life, which is the frailest thing in the world.
  13. Contradiction is not a sign of falsity, nor the lack of contradiction a sign of truth.
  14. Man’s greatness lies in his power of thought.
  15. Nothing is so intolerable to man as being fully at rest, without a passion, without business, without entertainment, without care.
  16. People are usually more convinced by reasons they discovered themselves than by those found by others.
  17. Small minds are concerned with the extraordinary, great minds with the ordinary.
  18. That we must love one God only is a thing so evident that it does not require miracles to prove it.
  19. The eternal silence of these infinite spaces frightens me.
  20. There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus.
  21. There are two kinds of people one can call reasonable: those who serve God with all their heart because they know him, and those who seek him with all their heart because they do not know him.
  22. Time heals griefs and quarrels, for we change and are no longer the same persons. Neither the offender nor the offended are any more themselves.
  23. Two things control men’s nature, instinct and experience.
  24. We never love a person, but only qualities.
  25. Love has reasons which reason cannot understand.

These are just some thoughts that we can ponder about.

Circumstances

Sometimes I wish it’s that easy to forget the past or even certain people in it. Not really forget, but avoid as much as possible. Don’t you just wish that sometimes too? You’ve moved on for real… finally, you’re in that place where you can say that you’re really okay now… but your past is still trying to keep up with you and bring you back to that place you’ve tried so hard to escape from. You don’t like being rude to people but sometimes, because you don’t want to go back to that “place” you tend to say things that may sound rude or uncaring. And then you hate yourself for feeling guilty about it too.

The thing is, sometimes circumstances don’t allow us to be friends with everyone, or the people we want.  Do you agree? It sucks, but that’s reality. After all, you’re not the only two  people in this world. There are other people or other feelings that you have to take into consideration. It’s just not the same anymore. And we have to make that conscious decision and stand by it. No use being swayed. Or else, everything will be for naught.

Motor Homes

angel on Oct-27-2010

I’ve always been fascinated with motor homes. I’ve seen one in the movie “My Girl” and I thought it was really cool. Of course, nothing beats a house of your own with a solid foundation on solid ground, but having a motor home does have its advantages. And I do recognize the beauty of it. Pretty convenient, if you ask me. When it needs fixing all you have to do is bring it one of those motor home repairs and you’re good to go. You can take your motor home anywhere, and the best thing is, you can save on accommodations when traveling, you only need a parking space!
