Halloween Treat: Scary Stories

angel on Oct-31-2008

halloween.jpg

Since it’s Halloween, I thought to myself I should have a post here that pays tribute to the popular holiday. Ghosts and the dead… hmmm… not really related to the theme of this blog, huh? But what the heck, it’s part of life too, right? Actually, to be honest, I’m an easily frightened person. I get easily scared of ghosts, spirits, even the dark! But now that it’s Halloween, I’m gonna set aside my fears for a while and share with you scary stories that will curl your toes and give you a pounding heartbeat.

  • In a classroom, all students were asked to share their most memorable place. After all were done, one silent pale girl stood up and said: “My most memorable place is this classroom, were I killed myself.”
  • One day, this guy went on their college batch reunion. On his way to the function hall he saw his ex-girlfriend… she smiled at him and said… “How are you?! It’s been 10 years seen we’ve last seen each other! You look great! I missed you.” Then she hugged him very tight and ran away without any last words… he didn’t even get a chance to talk because he was very surprised. Then, a few minutes after the incident… he asked his old friends about his ex-girlfriend “How is she?” Upon hearing his question… all of his friends were shocked and one of them said… “Dude, she committed suicide a year after you left her. She’s already been dead for 9 years.”
  • There was a couple who prayed for a child and they had a girl. She was the ugliest child they had ever seen. Two years later, the family decided to go on a camping trip. During the trip, the child asked if she could pee. So, they stopped near the bridge of the mountain. Then there was an accident. The little girl fell off the bridge and died. A few years later… they were blessed with another child. She was the prettiest child ever. They loved her and gave her everything. One day, they went on a camping trip. On the way, the child asked if she could pee. So they stopped. The little girl looked at her mother and said “Mom, please don’t push me again.”

I also came across this beautifully written blog by Jowell called Spoon Lagoon and he published some really scary stories that you will enjoy too and will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Read his posts here: Pinoy Urban Legends 1.0 and Pinoy Urban Legends 2.0

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

Life Is A Journey

angel on Oct-30-2008

final-journey.jpg

In life, there are lots of lessons to be learned and lots of experiences that will teach us valuable lessons.

In matters of the heart, we learn that maybe, just maybe… we need to go through the wrong people first in order to find the right one. In relationships, we learn that maybe we need to break up to grow up. In friendships, we learn that not everyone you consider a friend will stick with you till the end. In life, we learn that something special is taken away from us to give way to something much better.

Life is a journey… and in that journey, somehow, we learn all kinds of lessons. Through all that, we laugh, we cry, we stumble and fall, but we get up and move on. That’s life… and everything that goes along with it. It’s an amazing journey, so enjoy the ride!

A Reason For Everything

angel on Oct-29-2008

serendipity_by_dinmeleth2004.jpgI believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go… things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they’re right… You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together…

Life is too short for regrets. No buts, no ifs, no lies. Love the people who treat you right, forget the ones who don’t. Things happen for a reason. If you see a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody says its easy. But its all worth it.

When your life goes wrong, don’t waste your time looking back to what you’ve lost, for the road of life was never meant to be travelled backward. Just move on and say… thing’s always happen for a reason.

My Greatest Sacrifice

angel on Oct-28-2008

Dear God,

I’m doing this for you… I’m letting go… I’m giving up the greatest happiness I’ve ever known… because You made me feel that it’s the right thing to do. I’m so confused and I don’t know if this is really what you want me to do… but I took a risk. I took a huge risk. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done… but thank you for giving me the courage to do it.

This is the best thing to do, right? I think I’ve made the right decision. But why am I crying? Why do I feel so miserable and alone? Will this wound ever heal? Will the pain ever go away? Will I regret this for the rest of my life? They say that when one door of happiness closes, another will open… so I’m holding on that hope. The hope that you want something better for me, and at the end of it all, it will be worth the sacrifice.

I’m doing this for you, Father. My greatest sacrifice. Please help me through this coz I can’t do this on my own…

A Package Arrives

angel on Oct-25-2008

We got a package today from our beloved aunt in Canada, a huge box of food and clothes. Her adopted son is staying with us, so he has his share of toys and daily necessities too. When the box arrived, we couldn’t open it with a normal knife because it was completely sealed and it was hard to cut through all the tape! Especially since the knife was not that sharp. It would have been nice if we had a box cutter at home, it would definitely prove handy. After a few minutes or ripping and cutting, finally we were able to open the box. And geez!!! Chocolates and clothes galore! After munching on some sweet Toblerone, I thought it was definitely worth the effort. Hehe.

Travel Essential: Pick The Right Luggage

angel on Oct-24-2008

I dream of traveling around the world someday. I would love to see different places and cultures and people of various origins. Traveling is fun and exciting, but it’s also costly. You can’t just go around the world with a few dollars in your pocket, can you? You have to have the means to pay for your airfare, lodging, food, and recreation. Of course, as with any travel, you have to invest in a good and durable luggage as well. I find the Delsey luggage perfect for these travel needs. Although I haven’t really traveled around the world yet, I use it for short distance, domestic travel, and I love it. It’s sturdy and easy to bring along, not to mention good looking. You have to know how to pick the right travel luggage because it’s gonna be your companion wherever you go. You’re going to need your clothes and things with you, won’t you?

Hard To Say Goodbye

angel on Oct-22-2008

somedays.jpg

I was able to compose my own quote today, based on my current state of emotions. I just came up with it for about a minute or two. It just flowed out of my mind and it was so real and honest that I had to share it. Here it is:

“It’s HARD to say goodbye to someone you love, but it’s even harder to STAY when you know in your heart that you’ve lost every hope of a happy ending.”

I don’t mean to sound all sad and miserable, in fact, I’m really not. It’s just an honest representation of what I feel right now, it’s not even a bitter statement… it’s actually brought about and fueled by acceptance. There’s always beauty in being able to accept things as they come, acknowledging that you need to accept reality and be at peace with it in order for you to grow, and celebrate in the thought that you’re going to get something better, somehow, somewhere…

A friend introduced this Matt Duke song to me and I loved it the moment I heard the intro. You know how it is sometimes… you just want to chill out and listen to some cool music that will lull you to sleep and relaxation… well, this is one of those songs. It’s so relaxing, you could feel your mind and body rest along with the caressing notes. Have a listen… perfectly calm and peaceful…

Understanding Pain And Love

angel on Oct-19-2008

beatingheart.gifI got a comment from Carmen (thanks Carmen!) for one of my posts here in this blog entitled Broken Reflections, and instead of writing a reply as a comment on that particular post, I decided to write a new post for it. Here goes:

“I’ve been where you are now. In fact it has been 15 years and the pain is still the same. Love, pretty word. No one ever tells you how deadly it can be. The hypocrisy of the world is countless. And the betrayal of your so called family and friends is like a burning flame that never ceases. Love is nothing but a four letter word, that robs you of your very essence and leaves you gutless, empty, torn, confused and worthless. If there is a god in heaven watching every single move that we make, every thought in our minds before we speak it. Why does he let our hearts be broken and torn apart on a daily basis.” -Carmen

First of all, I’d like to note that NOT every post that I write or post in this blog is based on my OWN personal experience. Since the theme of this blog is about life, love, and inspiration, sometimes, I include posts or sentiments here that I know many people in the world are experiencing, broken hearts, life issues, etc. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m experiencing it too in my life at that particular moment.

So with that said, this comment from Carmen really says a lot about the not-so-wonderful side of love. You can feel it overwhelming with pain and bitterness. And we all experience bad moments in our lives, right? Sadly, we can’t avoid that because as I said, this world is not our final destination. That’s why we experience all kinds of pain here, to remind us that we shouldn’t cling too much to the physical world. Our goal would be to unite with God in heaven, and there we will live a life that is free of pain and worries. I’m not preaching, neither am I convincing people to believe in what I’m saying. This is my own personal belief, and I’m just sharing it to those whose minds are open enough to receive it.

Carmen, I know from your words that you’ve experienced it all, pain, bitterness, confusion, a sense of worthlessness, and yet you’ve survived. And you should be proud of yourself for that.

Love is a beautiful experience. Yes, it will always bring pain and God knows what else… but it also brings joy and a feeling of being complete that none of us can ever explain or fathom. In my experience, I’d rather have love and lost, than never to have loved at all. I’ve experienced pain, but I’ve also experienced happiness beyond compare. And I’ll never trade that happiness for anything. I am who I am now not only because of the positive moments that happened in my life, but essentially because of the bad moments too. We experience these painful moments so we could well appreciate the good moments. Experience the bad, to appreciate the good. God allows these things to happen, He allows our hearts to be broken, so we would GROW. Every time we feel pain, He’s on the works, He’s working on us to make us better persons.

The same is true with love, without love, we will never be complete. Love makes the world go round, love is the force that keeps us innately good. I wouldn’t blame love for the pain it brings, nor will I hold a grudge against it for the misery it caused, instead I will thank God for it. We get wounds from it, but those wounds will heal if we allow God to heal them. But it’s not like magic that poof! it’s all healed. It will start from us too, FORGIVENESS and ACCEPTANCE are the keys to healing. Pain is just but a reminder, that we have lessons to learn, joys to look forward to, and a God to go to in times of need. Don’t be scared of pain and love because it’s part of LIFE. Grieve from it, get angry at it, but don’t be consumed by bitterness because of it. Instead, learn from it and use it to become the best person you can be.

Christmas Is Coming!

angel on Oct-18-2008

corporate-holiday-card.jpg

Christmas is just around the corner, and everyone is excitedly awaiting the holidays. Christmas is probably my favorite holiday, not just because it’s Christ’s birthday, but because the whole season is so festive and cheerful, not to mention magical. In the office, the whole team is planning for a Christmas party. I’m not really fond of Christmas office parties, I’ve never really been a religious goer, if you know what I mean. But I do like it when the whole company celebrates with a bang. I’d like to see Christmas decorations, gift giving, corporate holiday cards, Christmas carols… you get the point. Anyway, It’s 2 months away, but I can’t wait for Christmas to come along. Aside from the Christmas bonus, we get to celebrate! Advance Merry Christmas everyone!
