The moment I heard this song by Barbra Streisand, “The Way He Makes Me Feel” I instantly fell in love with it. The song is a sad, honest expression of how a man makes a woman feel. Even the intro by itself is so poignant and speaks of nostalgic longing and intense emotions. Feel free to listen to the song, and tell me what you think of it. Also, check out the lyrics here. For me, there’s a distinct way in which a man can make a woman FEEL. Listening to this song and understanding the lyrics, it actually is an accurate description of how love can capture a woman and make her feel all different kinds of emotions from a man. Some may feel that the words are an exaggeration, but that’s what makes it even more meaningful and deep. Think about it, even just a simple touch from a man you love can bring shivers, literally. Right? A simple smile can make the knees go weak. Even when your eyes are closed, he seems to be the only face that keeps popping up.
It’s amazing how a man can cause a variety of feelings in a woman… it’s something that has no comparison really. We can use metaphors to explain them or compare them with other things, but everything is still just shallow representations of what we REALLY feel deep inside. You have to experience it for yourself to know exactly what it’s all about.
I just love the melody of this song and the attempt to explain how a man can make a woman feel. Can you relate to the song?
