When we broke up 2 years later, I was devestated beyond belief, and I was screwed up for years... even though I dated and even was involved in several longterm relations in which I fell in love with my partner, I always thought my heart would always be forever broken just a little bit, perhaps with the broken pieces glued back on... Then, a decade later, I met a woman that made me feel like I felt 12 years ago when I was 16. I forgot about that feeling, and I certainly never expected that I would get to experience it again. And finally, a decade later, I fully forgive my first love for the devastation I took years to get rid of. In fact, all things considered, I think those years of agony were worth it, because that feeling of falling in love for the first time was so intense and wonderful and exciting that will make it forever a highlight of my life. So yeah, falling in love for the first time is simply blissful. And if you ever find someone that helps you remember what that felt like, you know you've found a keeper.
