Mending A Broken Heart

  • HAVE A GOOD CRY, play your favorite sad songs and yearn for all the good times you and your lost love shared. A little bittersweet nostalgia is good, but don’t overdo it.
  • DON’T KEEP YOUR SORROW ALL TO YOURSELF. Find someone to confide in. But don’t pour out your woes to every friend. It’ll label you a whore.
  • Once you’ve had your fill of self pity, START SHUTTING DOWN YOUR MEMORY BANKS on everything about the ill-fated romance. Lose yourself in your job or a hobby. Take a vacation or meet new people.
  • At all costs, AVOID RUNNING INTO YOUR EX. Don’t try to find out who he or she is going with now. You’ll only be piling on the agony.
  • If you do catch yourself thinking about your former heartthrob, concentrate on all the things that used to infuriate you.
  • REMEMBER, HE OR SHE ISN’T THE ONLY REASON IN THE WORLD YOU CAN LOVE. There are thousands of candidates out there. When you’re ready, you’ll meet one.

“Yes, love is beautiful. It can do miracles to some people. But it can also break an innocent heart. It hurts so much you wouldn’t really know how to get over it. Especially if it’s the first time you fall in love. But despite all the heartaches it brings you, you can never learn to forget the very first time you loved. As a matter of fact, the pain is what makes it unforgettable.”
